The task may not be easy as communities oft fail to protect their weakest citizens. The goal of eliminating corporal punishment in education is worth these difficulties. The classroom milieu should be characterized by positive mutual regard and be free of abusing and demeaning acts. Until the practice of corporal punishment ceases, many children may never have the experience of learning in such a supportive, encouraging and safe environment.
